The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, commissioned Dominica’s participation in the International Exposition Yeosu Korea 2012 with responsibility for planning and execution delegated to Invest Dominica Authority.

As Expo 2012 moves into its 29th day, Dominica continues to stamp its impression on the global environment, reinforcing our commitment to the promoting and preserving the natural environment and the fostering of the peaceful co-existence of marine and human life for mutual survival and economic growth and development.

Under the leadership of our official participants, Gloria Joseph and Ronnie Guiste our colourful display of agro-processed products, craft items and the promotion of our destination continue to attract thousands from the Asian/Pacific continents to the Dominica Booth. With an average of 60,000 visitors on weekdays and about 90,000 on weekends, we are daily flooded with questions regarding Dominica: “Where is Dominica located? What kinds of people live there? Is Dominica the same as the Dominican Republic? What is Dominica known for? What do you have to offer to visitors to your country? How far is Dominica from Korea? How can I buy some of your products?” The daily distribution of hundreds of brochures, promotional material and product samples certainly are aimed at ensuring that the information reaches the right hands, thereby stimulating interest for tourism and investment. We commend our Government for the initiative taken in continuing to promote Dominica to the rest of the world.
