E-Commerce, E-banking, Cyber Security
E-Commerce in its varied forms, E-Finance & E-Banking, Cyber Security and E-fraud prevention to enhance an ICT investment environment. Six pieces of harmonized legislation related to E-Business/E-Commerce are being prepared to support effective business and financial services regulation that encompasses the ICT sector, as well as, the traditional sectors. The following bills will be parliament ready in the next few months:
- Private and Personal Information Protection Bill 2006
- Freedom of Information Bill 2006
- Interception of Communication Bill (2006)
- Electronic Transaction Bill (2006)
- Electronic Evidence Bill (2006)
- Computer and Computer Related Crime Bill (2006)
These bills will create the legal framework for guiding the sector and creating confidence in Dominica as an ICT oriented jurisdiction.
Companies involved in ICT can register as an International Business Company and enjoy twenty years tax holiday or register as a local company and benefit from incentives under the Fiscal Incentives Act.
