The Invest Dominica Authority (IDA) will undertake an investment mission to the islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique from February 22 – 26, 2016. IDA is of the view that the strategic location of Dominica between Martinique and Guadeloupe, the continued interest in Dominica by French nationals and the strong bonds of cooperation are the foundation for further business enhancement. As a result a team from the IDA will visit Martinique from February 22 – 23 and Guadeloupe from February 24 – 26.
During each island visit, the IDA will have several media interviews, host a business seminar on doing business in Dominica and participate in pre-arranged site visits and business to business meetings with identified companies of interest. The Authority will work closely with the Guadeloupe Expansion in Guadeloupe and the Chamber of Commerce in Martinique for the preparation and execution of its plans in the FWI.
The one week visit to the FWI is expected to establish business relationships by the Authority, identify companies which are seeking business opportunities and partnerships and utilize the media for public awareness of both. Some local projects with opportunities for partnership in agro processing, agriculture and tourism will also be presented. Overall, the public in the FWI and more specifically, the business community will be made more aware of various industries which are open to investment in Dominica and be informed of the current business environment to support these ready industries.
