The highly anticipated EXPO 2020 Dubai was officially opened on October 1, 2021 in Dubai. Dominica is among over 190 countries represented and the theme for the Dominica Pavilion is “Experience the Commonwealth of Dominica - the Nature Island of the World through the lens of its Culture, Heritage and Traditions”. The pavilion brings to life our Kalinago heritage, natural resources and a rich culture continuously encountered in a number of festivals. Visitors to the Dominica Pavilion will experience the natural beauty of the island and understand the path being taken towards a sustainable future as we seek to become the first climate resilient country in the world. With sustainable investments being a priority, Invest Dominica Authority was at the forefront of preparations with the Executive Director Ms. Rhoda Joseph, taking the leading role as Commissioner General of the Expo 2020 Dubai.
The Authority is represented at EXPO 2020 Dubai by Mr. Shayan Monelle, Investor Services Officer. During the six month event, Mr. Monelle will be liaising between potential investors and the local office, providing investment information to visitors and promoting the key sectors for green and brown field investments. B2B meetings will be arranged for contacts met, who require a more direct dialogue on investment opportunities in Dominica. Back at the office, through the use of social media, the Authority will promote the pavilion, highlight the main activities for Dominica and provide extensive visibility of the destination to Dubai and the world. Dominica is seeking to attract both investors and visitors through its participation in the EXPO and we wish everyone a safe and productive event.
