Rosalie Bay Resort PoolROSALIE, Dominica — Rosalie Bay Resort, an eco-boutique and wellness resort on the Atlantic coast, has received golden honors to begin 2016. Editors of the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler have named Rosalie Bay one of Our Favorite Hotels in the World in the 2016 Gold List just released.

Rosalie Bay is one of only six properties in the Caribbean, and the only resort on Dominica, to make the list, which totals 158 properties, spans 47 countries and six continents. Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List is currently on their website at

Additionally, Rosalie Bay was also recognized as one of only nine properties in the world on the magazine’s Far-Flung Hotels & Resorts Worth the Trip: Gold List 2016. Editors described the resort as “Built as a labor of love, this 28-room eco-enterprise is a master microcosm of Dominica: 22 acres of verdant grounds (frangipani, ginger lily, heliconia, and hibiscus) and a hotel blessedly free of pretension,” going on to highlight the resort was locally built, carefully controls its environmental footprint and invites guests to participate in its endangered sea turtle conservation efforts.

Recognition of Rosalie Bay as a “favorite” by the editors of Condé Nast Traveler follows recognition by the magazine’s discerning readers in the 2015 Readers’ Choice Awards wherein the resort leapt a staggering 35 spots from the previous year to be ranked No. 10 in the Top Resorts in the Caribbean. More than 128,000 readers—and the most in its history—participated in the survey casting votes that resulted in the world’s best travel experiences.

“This is a wonderful way to begin the New Year,” comments Daryl Aaron, Resort Manager for Rosalie Bay. “It is a great honor to be recognized by the travel experts and readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine among the best resorts in the world and to represent the Nature Island.”

Condé Nast Traveler’s 22nd annual Gold List comprises hotels around the world that are “doing it best” according to the magazine’s Editor in Chief Pilar Guzmán. The complete list of 158 properties are those that the magazine’s editors “always recommend and come back to again and again.”
