sidewalk leading to the Oceanview SuitesRosalie Bay Resort has weathered the wrath of Tropical Storm Erika that struck Dominica last week. Guests who were visiting with us during the storm have been safely transported from the resort. While we are thankful the resort sustained relatively moderate damage, Tropical Storm Erika left a catastrophic aftermath on the island. We are praying for the hardest hit sections of Dominica and are humbled for the outpouring of requests received from around the world eager to help.

How You Can Help Dominica

Nine communities on Dominica have been declared Special Disaster Areas and desperately need your help. Rosalie Bay Resort has established a Disaster Relief Fund through the Resource Foundation (TRF), a foundation through which we have supported vulnerable populations on the island since 2011. If you wish to participate in the relief efforts, please donate using this safe, secure method.

Unfortunately phone lines remain down at the resort. The best way to reach us is via email at or on our Facebook page. We thank you in advance for your patience as we do our best to respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Follow us on Facebook and sign up for our newsletter for more information.

Resort Clean-up

Thanks to the resort buildings being built to strict Miami hurricane standards, the most damage experienced was to our river wall which functioned to keep dangerous amounts of water and debris from vastly impacting the resort. Moderate damage was caused by branches, sand and mud left behind from the storm. With security and staff working diligently to remove debris, restoration efforts are already underway.

Welcoming Back Guests

Rosalie Bay Resort was scheduled to close September 18 for annual routine maintenance. Due to the damage caused by Tropical Storm Erika, the resort is closed effective immediately. We hope to reopen by the end of October and will keep you posted with a specific date in the near future. While there are several major island initiatives needed to assist in welcoming tourists to our island, we look forward to hosting guests again this autumn.
